The Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law is launching its new Ethics and Eats series, which was developed to provide attorneys an opportunity to meet their annual Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements during a single, lunchtime session.

Ethics and Experts: Ethical Considerations in Working with Forensic Experts will be held on Friday, Dec. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Africa Room of the Duquesne Union. The session is offered both on site and online.

This session will feature a roundtable discussion to investigate the various ethical considerations in working with forensic specialists, including the rules and case law governing communications between attorneys and expert witnesses.

Presenters at the session will include Steven Baicker McKee, assistant professor of law at Duquesne University, who served as a civil litigator for nearly 25 years at Pittsburgh firm Babst Calland; David Rodes, attorney at Pittsburgh firm Goldberg Persky White, P.C., where he practices in the areas of appeals, discrimination claims, employment law and pension fraud; and the institute’s forensic expert namesake, Dr. Cyril Wecht.

Open to the general public and other professionals, this program is approved by the Pennsylvania CLE Board for two hours of Ethics CLE credit.

On-site attendees are invited to bring a brown bag lunch. For pricing and to register, contact the Wecht Institute at 412.396.1330, wechtinstitute@duq.edu or visit www.duq.edu/wecht-institute.
