The next Forensic Fridays seminar will focus on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in both civilian and military contexts as well as the legal implications of various PTSD-related disabilities.

Hosted by the Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Medical-Legal Implications in Civilian and Military Contexts will be held on Friday, Feb. 9, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in the Africa Room.

The program will feature an interdisciplinary lineup of speakers, including attorneys, professors and a psychiatric expert.

“With a staggering number of service men and women returning home from war with brain injuries, it is critical for the legal system to understand how PTSD is diagnosed and treated,” said Ben Wecht, program administrator for the Wecht Institute.

The Forensic Friday seminars are offered both on site and online. This session is approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board for two hours of Substantive CLE credit and one hour of Ethics CLE credit.

For more information, including a full list of speakers, and to register, visit www.duq.edu/forensics, email wechtinstitute@duq.edu or call 412.396.1330.
