The Offices of Residence Life and Military/Veterans Affairs are teaming up with Parkhurst Dining at Duquesne to host a special Vietnamese Dinner tonight in the Sean Hogan Dining Center in Towers residence hall.
The dinner, which will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m., is available for a meal swipe for students and $5 for all other guests. Veterans will be treated to a free dinner courtesy of the residence life office.
The event menu includes pho noodle soup; egg rolls; fried rice; lemongrass chicken served with sticky rice and Asian vegetable stir-fry; Bahn Mi sandwiches; Vietnamese chicken salad with shredded cabbage, radish and lemon; and Vietnamese iced coffee.
Dinner attendees will have the opportunity to meet and talk with Vietnam veterans; veterans and their service dogs; and Duquesne alumni who are veterans or who are currently serving in the military. Staff from the Office of Military/Veterans Affairs will be available to answer questions, as well as members of Friends of Danang, a Pittsburgh-based organization that does humanitarian work to help children in Vietnam.
“This wonderful dinner is a great educational opportunity for the Duquesne community to meet and interact with veterans and current military service members,” said Nick DuBos, resident director for Vickroy Hall.
