The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has selected Duquesne as one of its 2013 Educational Fundraising Award recipients. The University was named in the Private Research/Doctoral Institutions category and was one of just three institutions recognized for overall improvement of its fundraising efforts.

The Advancing Our Legacy capital campaign raised more than $165 million, marking the most successful fundraising effort in the University’s history. The campaign, which concluded in December 2012, surpassed the $150 million goal in 2011.
The CASE awards program recognizes overall performance and overall improvement in education fundraising programs based on data submitted to the Council for Aid to Education’s annual Voluntary Support of Education survey.
“More than anything else, this recognition reflects the generosity of our alumni and friends, and their growing desire to support the mission of the University,” said John Plante, vice president for university advancement.
CASE award winners are selected based upon factors such as pattern of growth in total support; overall breadth in program areas; impact of the 12 largest gifts on total support; and total support in relation to the alumni base. Winners in the overall fundraising improvement category are judged utilizing these factors to determine significant growth across three years of data, with institutions evaluated within appropriate peer groups using different size and type classifications.
