Faculty and staff are invited to attend Meet the University’s Retirement Plan Providers Monday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second-floor Union Atrium.

The Office of Human Resources is hosting the free event to kick off National Retirement Security Week.

Employees can gather important retirement information; speak with Duquesne retirement plan representatives from TIAA, Fidelity Investments and Henderson Brothers; and enter drawings to win prizes.

“Many people have questions about retirement, such as ‘What is vesting?’ or ‘Am I saving enough?’” Donna Steed, director of benefits, said. “Our retirement plan representatives will be on campus to help you find the answers to fit your needs to plan for the retirement you deserve. Regardless of your age, the time for thinking about retirement is now.”

The Duquesne Retirement Plan, a key part of an employee’s compensation and future security, offers eligible employees:

  • Immediate participation with voluntary contributions from the first day of the month following or coinciding with the employee’s hire date
  • A University match of 8% with employee salary contributions of 5% that are deducted pre-tax
  • Immediate vested University and employee contributions that are 100% portable if an employee leaves the University.
