Members of the campus community hoping to jumpstart their holiday shopping will find a wide selection of unique, handcrafted and hard-to-find items available at the Gallery of Gifts next week on campus.
The Gallery of Gifts, an annual holiday vendor and craft fair hosted by the University Women’s Guild, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second and third floors of the Union.
More than 30 vendors, including Pampered Chef, Thirty-One, Lots of Love Sweets and Origami Owl, will be selling items such as soap, candles, purses, pottery, handmade bath and body products, home and holiday decor, jewelry, quilts and more.
In addition, popular local artist Linda Barnicott will display Pittsburgh-themed limited-edition prints, and raffle tickets will be sold for a Christmas tree decorated with gift cards.
Women’s Guild member Denise Sciulli, assistant to the vice president for management and business, along with guild member Corinne Burns, organized this year’s Gallery of Gifts. “We wanted to provide a fun way for staff and students to get a head start on their holiday shopping,” Sciulli said. “And of course, it is with the added benefit of supporting a really good cause—our endowed scholarship fund.”
Approximately $1,500 was raised at last year’s Gallery of Gifts.
