Duquesne’s 14th annual Virtual Human Rights Film Series: Race, Rights, Responsibilities continues at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, with a livestream screening of Death by Design.
Directed by Sue Williams, the 2018 documentary considers the question “What is the cost of our digital dependency?” and illustrates a global story about the lethal environmental and health costs of even the tiniest of devices.
Business Ethics and Management Professor Dr. Jim Weber, who is managing director of Duquesne’s Albert P. Viragh Institute for Ethics in Business, will host a post-screening discussion relevant to Death by Design.
The film series concludes Thursday, Feb. 25, with a 7 p.m. livestream screening of the documentary A Dangerous Idea: Eugenics, Genetics and the American Dream. The film investigates the radical reassessment of the meaning, use and misuse of gene science.
