Duquesne faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to explore the ways in which scholarship, disciplinary commitments and service connect with the University’s Spiritan values at the next virtual Spiritan Pedagogy Conversation.
Slated for Tuesday, April 6, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., the event’s discussion leaders are Dr. John Stolz, professor of environmental microbiology, and Associate Professor Dr. Faina Linkov, chair of health administration and public health. Dr. Steve Hansen, director of faculty development and teaching excellence in the Center for Teaching Excellence, will serve as the discussion facilitator.

During this session, the discussion leaders will explore—from a disciplinary perspective— advocacy for those who are marginalized. Stolz’s work with water quality issues and Linkov’s work with public health and administration will serve as touchstones to help participants from various disciplines discovers ways to help marginalized people.
The theme for this year’s Spiritan Pedagogy Conversation series is Broadening Our Scholarship, Deepening our Disciplinary Commitments and Reaching People on the Margins. The series is co-sponsored by the Center for Catholic Faith and Culture in the Division of Mission & Identity and the Center for Teaching Excellence.
