Sean Weaver has been named director for the Office of Anti-Discrimination Policy and Compliance in the Division of Legal Affairs.

Weaver’s primary role in this new position is to serve as the first point of contact for University employees if they feel that they are victims of discrimination and to oversee policy and procedures relating to discrimination complaints. His office is located in Room 312 of the Administration Building; he can be reached at 412.396.2560 or by email.
As the University’s new Title IX coordinator, Weaver manages policies relating to minors and volunteers on campus and ensures that these policies are in line with the Duquesne’s mission statement and current with federal, state and local legislation.
He also is responsible for educational and awareness programs relating to the management of discrimination, minors and volunteers. The goal is to promote proactive practices in the University community and raise awareness of this new office on campus.
Previously director of freshman development and special student services at Duquesne, Weaver started his new position on Jan. 2. Before coming to Duquesne, Weaver served as an assistant dean at Princeton University. He brings significant experience in higher education from various positions at the University of Chicago and Thomas Jefferson, Catholic and Georgetown universities. Weaver’s background in higher education student affairs will provide a valuable foundation for his role in these key compliance programs.
Weaver graduated from Penn State University and received his M.Ed. in higher education administration from Loyola University Chicago.
