Human trafficking, its relation to homelessness and its negative effects on children and young adults in Pittsburgh and across the world will be addressed at a presentation on Tuesday, April 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 105 of College Hall.
Speakers for the event, hosted by the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, the Office of Service-Learning and the Homeless Children’s Education Fund (HCEF), include:
- Susy Robinson, director of outreach and volunteer services for HCEF
- Kelly Kochamba, a community outreach specialist for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Pittsburgh field office
- Heather McCauley, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pittsburgh and an epidemiologist in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital.
For several years, University students and faculty have been working in partnership with the HCEF, a Pittsburgh-based organization that directly supports the education of homeless children and youth in Allegheny County.
Organized and led by students in the Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies, the event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Erik Garrett.
