According to Andrea Capasso, a third-year law student and president of the WLA, this year’s recipients were selected for their professionalism and dedication to the Pittsburgh and Duquesne law communities, which is illustrated by their involvement in bar association activities and with law student groups. “They are accomplished attorneys that female law students can look to as examples of success,” said Capasso.

Past winners include judges, professors and local attorneys. The WLA also sponsors programs that provide information on issues of social and legal concern to women law students and hosts annual events to benefit local women shelters.
