Founders Week ‘Faces of Courage’ A Success

Faces of Courage, the University’s 2015 Founders Week—a celebration that honors the legacy, vision and values of Duquesne’s Spiritan founders—concluded on Feb. 6.

The celebration was marked with notable highlights, including a Faces of Courage video series, which featured alumni, faculty, Spiritans, staff and students sharing their faces of courage. To view the video series, visit any of the following links:

Fans enjoy the “Red Out” during the men’s basketball game at the A.J. Palumbo Center, which was the kick-off event for Founders Week. The Dukes defeated the George Mason Patriots, 62-53. Mass was celebrated in the University Chapel of the Holy Spirit on Monday to celebrate the Feast Day of Venerable Francis Libermann. During a special student event, the Rev. Ray French, C.S.Sp., interviewed the Rev. Sean Hogan, C.S.Sp., about the time he spent in Kenya, his years in Ireland, his experiences at Duquesne and much more. Duquesne University presented an honorary doctor of humane letters to Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, director of the St. Monica’s Girls Tailoring Center in Gulu, Uganda, on Thursday. Founders Week concluded with Vespers and a reception in Trinity Hall.
