Poetry and works of fiction will be presented at the upcoming Coffee House Reading Series on Monday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in the Barnes and Noble Café. Established fiction writer Jeffrey Condran and poet Erin Elizabeth Smith will be featured.
Condran is the co-founder of Braddock Avenue Books and an Art Institute of Pittsburgh English professor. His stories have been recognized with awards such as the William Peden Prize and Pushcart Prize. Condran recently released his first novel, Prague Summer.
A lecturer at the University of Tennessee and founder and managing editor of Sundress Publications, Smith has published several collections of poetry. Her work has also appeared in numerous literary magazines, including Mid-American, 32 Poems, New Delta Review, Third Coast and Crab Orchard.
Sponsored by the Department of English, the series features recognized and emerging authors in an effort to develop the creative writing and arts community on campus.
The Coffee House Reading Series, which is free and open to the public, concludes on Thursday, April 16, with John Thomas Menesini and Aubrey Hirsh.
