The popular Libermann Luncheon series, held monthly by Spiritan Campus Ministry for faculty and staff, returns on Tuesday, Sept. 17, with a presentation by Ali McMutrie and Duquesne alumna Vivian Lee Croft from the organization Haitian Families First.
McMutrie and Croft will describe their organization’s work in Haiti and share the outcomes of their efforts over the past 10 years. Haitian Families First, which was founded by McMutrie and her sister, Jamie, is a nonprofit organization based in Pittsburgh and Haiti that nurtures and empowers Haitian families through emotional, social and financial support. The group’s focus is to ensure that Haitian children remain out of institutions by helping their families overcome poverty and become self-sustaining.
Upcoming Libermann Luncheon dates are:
- Tuesday, Oct. 15
- Tuesday, Nov. 12
- Wednesday, Jan. 15
- Wednesday, Feb. 19.
All Libermann Luncheons are held at noon in the Africa Room of the Union. To RSVP, email Mary Beth Calorie in the Office of Spiritan Campus Ministry or call 412.396.6020. All are welcome.
